Jenica was almost one year old when she had to leave her native Romania. A Canadian family adopts the child. She grows up happy and protected. But Jenica feels that something is different about her. She wants to get back to her roots. At the age of 24 Jenica finally finds her birth mother.

Aven Khere is not just a movie about two women and it's also a movie about two different worlds. Our western sheltered affluent society and the archaic culture of the Roma, who are forced to fight against daily poverty by all means.
